About

Open for all students across Australia who have a passion for videogame culture and esports, the Australian Esports University League provides a structured and well-governed tournament for aspiring players to prove their skills among their peers and against rival universities!

This league is sanctioned by the Australian Esports Association who have launched the AESA University Committee to provide student representation and governance oversight.

How to register

1. Discord

Players are required to join the AEL University discord server. 

Once you are in please comment in the #permission-requests channel with the name of your University and the game(s) that you will be competing in.

All communication between players and tournament officials will be done through discord.

2. AEL Player ID

Players participating will be required to have an ‘AEL Player ID’. 

You can obtain this by filling out the AEL Player Form found below.

Once you have filled out your information, you will receive an email with your AEL Player ID. 

Provide the AEL Player ID to your team Captain/Manager for use in the AEL Game Signup Forms. 

3. Mogul.GG

Players are required to create an account on Mogul.GG, link here: https://auth.mogul.gg/

Players will need to verify the game(s) that you will be participating in by going to ‘My Games’, selecting it and following the prompts (this will be required before the team captain will be able to submit the team to the bracket).

4. AEL Game Signups

The Team Captain or Manager should gather the required information (found in the game signup forms) from each player, noting that all players must be from the same Australian University.  

The Team Captain or Manager can select the appropriate game and registration form by clicking on ‘Register Here!’ located under your selected game. 

Once the Team Captain or Manager has submitted the AEL Game Signup Form they will be provided with a password via email which is to be used to finalise the team submission to the bracket on Mogul.GG. 

5. Team Bracket Submission

On Mogul.GG Team captains will then need to create their team by going to ‘Teams’ and clicking the ‘Create Team’ button, following the prompts and inviting all players from their team. 

Lastly, team captains or managers will need to use the bracket password they received in the email to join their team to the tournament through the AEL Mogul Hub.

The tournament will be split into 2 stages.

Stage 1 – Groups

Teams will play a round robin within their group
All stage 1 matches will be Best of 2

Stage 2 – Playoffs

The top teams from each group (8 total) will be seeded into and play through a double elimination bracket
All stage 2 matches will be Best of 3

Dates

  • Registrations close: 26th July, 11pm AEST
  • Stage 1: 3rd August – 27th September
  • Stage 2: 28th September – 23rd October
  • Online Finals: 24 – 25th October
